The obvious reasons for marketing (and not so obvious)

Why is marketing important for your business?

You might be in one of two camps:

  1. Think marketing is a waste of time
  2. See the value but not sure how to do it right

No matter how you view it, marketing can have an impact on your business.

If you’re in camp number 1, keep an open mind. If you’re in camp number 2, I want to help you do it right.

Marketing at it's core is how you communicate your business to others. It's not defined by fancy sales funnels, ads, or tactics.

Marketing is communicating.

If you have a business, you solve a problem for someone. That's it.

The problem is, most people don't know how to communicate that problem to their customer. It's a curse to be stuck inside your business. Consumed by the overwhelming details it takes to keep a business afloat.

You're a pro at what you do and it's hard to zoom out.

Think about a tennis play (or any professional athlete). The things they practice or focus on are wildly different from a beginner. A beginner is working on hitting the ball in play consistently, while to a pro, it's already engrained in who they are.

Whether you see marketing as a waste of time or feel overwhelmed by the complexity of tactics, take a breath.

At the end of the day your marketing hinges on how you communicate the problem your customer has and the solution you provide.

Sit down with your team and talk about the core problem you solve for your customer. You might be surprised by how different the answers will be.

P.S. If you're looking to win more business with your marketing. Check out the StoryBrand Marketing Report (it's free). Fill out the 5-minute assessment and schedule a call with me to review it.
